This pair of bongos is perfect for all players, from learners to more advanced musicians. Finishing and tone quality are just impeccable.

Members of the membraphone category, bongos consist of a 2-drum set. These 2 open-bottom, small drums are attached to each other and have different names : the larger one is called "hembra" ("female" in Spanish) and the smaller "macho" ("male").

Traditionally, the macho is held on the left handside, although nowadays, every player is free to handle the instrument either way.

Depending on the musical style, bongos can be played with hands, fingers or even sticks in more classical contexts, in which case, it is held on a stand. Lately, timbales players sometimes have had such a bongo stand next to their main instruments.

Traditionally, a bongo player also has a campana (large bell) within arm’s reach; he plays both instruments in turns, depending on a planned division of the musical piece. Campana is played as a metronome (simple beat) while bongo patterns are built on the following accents: 1st, 5th and 7th eighth notes are accentuated in two 2/4 measures.

NB: Comes in 2 colours: fair wood (see picture) or dark wood (redish), depending on availability.
