Polka, Waltz, Choro, Samba-Choro, Baião, Xote, Maxixe, Frevo, Marcha-Rancho, Marchinha, Partido Alto, and 18 songs for student play-along.
The CD also includes a recording of “Concert for Two Pandeiros and Brazilian String Orchestra” (Concerto Para Dois Pandeiros e Orquestra de Cordas Brasileiras) by the composer Tim Rescala.
The book is divided in six Modules. In the first four Modules, the student will work on articulations that define the technique of the pandeiro, and the rhythms which are applied to the instrument. Each Module also contains a sequence rhythms to be applied along with the recordings composed especially for the book. Module VI is focused on the Concert for Two Pandeiros and Brazilian String Orchestra. The composer explores the rhythmic and sonic possiblities of the instrument by featuring it as a soloist. The concert is also available in playback.
About the author: Vina Lacerda was born in Londrina, PR – Brazil and started his studies at the Conservatório de MPB de Curitiba (Brazilian Popular Music Conservatory in Curitiba), where he is currently a professor of percussion. He has worked with Dominguinhos, Guello, Caito Marcondes, Roberto Corrêa , Zé Renato and other renowned artists. He has a degree in percussion from the Escola de Música e Belas Artes do Paraná (Paraná Music and Fine Arts School)
