This traditional Malian djembe is perfectly balanced and comfortable to play. It is made from carefully selected wood and features a beautiful traditional carving on the foot.

The drum (shells, wooden body of the djembe) is carefully selected, and it benefits from an oven-drying process. After being shaped, the drum is coated with shea butter and stored. Once the drying is complete, it is sanded and waxed. This treatment reveals the beauty of the wood grain and gives it optimal protection. The foot of the djembe is decorated with a traditional carving. All of these characteristics, the quality of the craftsmanship, and the products used (wood, skins, ropes) guarantee you an authentic instrument of quality.

All djembe drums are handmade in the Wassoulou Percussions workshop in Bamako by qualified artisans.

Since 2001, djembe carvers have participated in all tree-planting campaigns initiated by the Malian Ministry of the Environment.

Wood: Precious exotic woods of Lingué (Afzélia africana), Dugura (Cordyla pinnata), and Guéni (Ptérocarpus érinaceus)

Skins: Thick, professional-grade goatskins (shaved, de-insected)

Rope and hardware: 5 mm black pre-stretched 100% polyester rope. Hardware used for the tension system: 8 mm section.
