The tabla natural heads we offer are excellent in quality and finishing. They are suitable for both professional class tablas and standard models.

Tablas' upper heads are covered with smaller, inner patches called Syahi which were originally temporary, made from a mix of starch (rice or wheat) and black mineral powder. Nowadays, it’s been replaced by a permanent rubber patch. They are responsible for modification of the drum's natural overtones, resulting in the clarity of pitch and variety of tonal possibilities.
