A caxixi (pron. Cah-shee-shee) is a percussion instrument (shaken idiophone). It consists of a small wicker-type basket with a flat-bottom, partly filled with seeds or small stones. In Capoeira music, the caxixi is played along with the berimbau, shaken by the hand that holds a thin stick, too.
It is found across Africa and in Brazil.
This particular model is inspired by the African Kesseng-Kesseng. It's made in Indonesia and propose a real good quality and finish.
