The Ganzá is a simple percussion instrument, a shaker consisting of one or several hollow, aluminium cylinders, partly filled with sand, tiny metal balls or dried seeds.

In Samba bands, Ganzas play a “continuum” phrase, that is, a repetitive pattern, following a constant to and fro motion, emphasizing the main beat for others to pick out easily.

This is our simplest model. Its sound quality is as nice as other Ginga models though this one is more suitable for small, pagode-type bands. It allows more freedom in terms of rhythmic variations.
