Standard Darbuka / “Goblet drum”

Darbuka is a goblet-shaped hand membraphone, with a single skin and a short, dry, piercing sound. Traditionally made of cast, its goat- or fish skin head is often glued to the shell rim. Its is tuned with heat (from a fire or by hand friction)

Nowadays, a darbuka can be made of cast iron, aluminium or ceramique with a natural or plastic head fixed to the instrument shell with screws that also allow the instrument's tuning.

Displayed model: 6-screw, cast Darbuka. Gawharet El Fan

Ideal for beginning and intermediate learners, this pretty inexpensive model boasts a wide range of tones and will give anyone access to the full technical scope of the instrument and that of oriental percussion.

NB : This (grey or brown) model is delivered with a basic cover as well as a spare drumhead and a tuning spanner.

The derbouka arrived in bad condition with white paint on the skin and impacts. I am very disappointed. I was not able to check it during the delivery with the delivery man because the delivery man did not ring the bell at the front door and dropped the package in front of the door :( so I will give a Christmas gift in bad condition!
