A Darbuka is a goblet-shaped hand membraphone, with a single skin and a short, dry, piercing sound. Traditionally made of cast, a darbuka can nowadays be made of cast iron, aluminium or ceramique with a hide- or synthetic head fixed to the instrument shell with a rim and screws that also allow the instrument's tuning.
This darbuka is a soloist model, entirely covered with inlaid wood work on the outside and with a layer of white resin on the inside and with a transparent plastic head.
A professional instrument, this model is aimed at purists.
