The ocarina is a very simple, most often ovoid-shaped, wind instrument.
It consist of a single resonance chamber with various holes (flute) and can be made up of various materials like bark, terra cotta or porcelain. A traditional instrument in some African regions, it is often decorated and is believed to be easy to play. Its sound can be described as a soft, warn-sounding flute.
In some European regions, its shape used to be that of a goose-head, hence its name: "ocarina" means "small goose" in Italian as Giuseppe Donati explained in the late 19th century.
This model was hand-made and ornamented in Perú. It is perfectly suitable for those who intend to discover this nice flute-like instrument.
Perfect finishing; high quality terracotta craftsmanship.

Hello, the holes are either too small or for a child and you have to blow very hard to get a clean sound. The other Ocarina that we ordered at the same time, works much better, too bad it lacks a cord. (Translated review)
Very Disappointed. (Translated review)
Superb (Translated review)
Very nice little instrument, pleasant and melodious sound - when you know how to use it - easy to handle. (Translated review)
I bought two ocarina. One sounds pretty good. The other one doesn't... impossible to use. Are these small instruments tested before being sold? If you have a solution for an exchange, I agree. If not... I will be more cautious, and maybe less confident in the future. Marie Orantin (Translated review)
The medium ocarina from Perú erst pretty. I like it. (Translated review)
