Originally Cajón was created by slaves in Latin America (more precisely Perú) from very common objects they had to handle during their workday, hence its name "cajón", which means large crate or box. It was introduced later into Europe by Spanish musicians as a rhythmical accompaniment instrument to Flamenco music.
For more than 20 years, German manufacturer Schlagwerk has been concentrating intensively on the further development of Cajon as a versatile instrument that can be used in any musical environment. Nowadays, these Cajones can easily stand comparison with traditional models made by the best Sapnish or Peruvian craftsmen.
Some cajones have a snare that consists in a piano or guitar string placed against the back side of the playing surface to give slap sounds that buzzing quality. The "2inOne" range has a special feature: its snare can be declutched with a simple operation to get the traditional, snare-free, original sound of a Peruvian Cajon. So this "double" instrument can meet the expectations of any kind of percussionist.
This model is the jewel of the "2inOne" range: precise, crispy slaps and deep bass tones; a professional model.
Dimensions: 12 x 12 x 20 in
