The Ganzá is a simple percussion instrument (idiophone), consisting of a hollow body, partly filled with sand, tiny metal balls or dried seeds.
Typically, a ganza plays a “continuum” phrase, that is, a repetitive pattern (ostinato), following a constant to and fro motion, emphasizing the main beat for others to pick out easily.

The well-balanced, egg-like shaped (hence its "ovo" nickname), Izzo model is made of aluminium, which gives it a bright, very pleasant sound quality.
