The Red Tail Hawk - key of "G" minor has a soothing, warm, melodic voice. Because it is deeper in tone than the Sparrow Hawk "A" first time players are attracted to this key.

Made from domestic, renewable walnut, a hardwood, the flute is sealed with non-toxic oils which give it a clear, bright voice especially on the high notes.

The Red Tail Hawk flute is a good accompaniment flute for the Contra Bass "G" flute and the Pocket Flute in the key of "G". Being a very versatile key, it plays well with other instruments and works well with many different styles of music expression - Native style, romantic, blues, jazz, etc...

The flute is tuned in the key of "G" minor and can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of "A#"/"Bb".

It is best for those with medium to larger hands.

This is a 6-hole flute, we cover the 3rd hole from the top of the flute (known as the 6th hole) with a leather tie, giving the option to use it as a 6-hole or a 5-hole flute.
