Originally Cajón was created in Latin America (more precisely Perú) by slaves from very common objects they had to handle during their workday, hence its name "cajón", which means large crate or box. It was introduced into Europe by Spanish musicians as a rhythmical accompaniment instrument to Flamenco music.
This cajón has a very large sound range to offer, from very deepbass tones to surprinsingly clear higher tones. It can be remarkably loud too. You have a traditional sounds of cajon from Peru (no string inside)
