This work is not supposed to be used as a top-of-the-range tutor, although its content is partly educational, but it provides an interesting, sometimes very personal insight of the region and its musical features.
The accompanying CD gives sound illustration to many pages of the book; the latter contains abour a hundred colour photos.

A nice work aimed at musicians and black Africa enthusiasts, possibly used as educational material
