"Pandeiro Brasileiro, vol.2" is a well-designed tool to go further in the learning process of playing techniques and rhythms of the famous latin frame drum: pandeiro.

Using a simplified notation (based on conventional music theory) for warm-up exercises and the study of a rich repertoire, all the material used in the book is to be found in the accompanying DVD. It is very useful to those who intend to improve their level through exercises on accents, sound effects and variations of strokes offered by this "pocket drum-set" as it is sometimes (and rightly) nicknamed.

Like the first volume, this opus focuses on the following rhythms: Samba / Choro, baião, Maracatu, Frevo and capoeira, marchinhas, Funk, Afoxé, odd-numbered bars (5 and 7 beats), compound bar rhythms in 6/8.

A beautiful, "Made in Brazil" book that doesn't replace but usefully complements indispensible, intensive, individual practice.
