The ocean drum we offer was made from a wooden frame, an animal skin and tiny steel balls. A bi-membranophone frame drum, it is an indispensable accesory for rich sound effects, along with the rainstick, the vibratone and the flexatone.

Its two heads are slightly different in thickness, alowwing a larger variety of sound textures. Inside the drum, the tiny steel balls roll over the skin surface, creating a nearly perfect imitation of the sound of waves on the see shore.
Not only a useful tool for music introduction with children, the ocean drum is used in various environments: sound effects for drama and cinema, original musical arrangements...
Some musicians apply frame-drum playing techniques (daf or riq) to the ocean drum.
