This work should be used as what it is: a useful piece of back-up material for individual practice, aimed at learners otherwise following intermediate to advanced conga lessons.

-Scores of variation phrases introduced by great, famous conga players

Although its pedagogical approach sometimes lacks precision (especially for less advanced learners), the book’s overall design is convenient, easy and pleasant to use, including a spacious lay-out that allows annotations.

The CD includes a large number of rhythms analysed in the book and provides convenient playback tracks to practice on.

This work is characteristic of the rigour its author acquired during his many years as a student in one of the celebrated "Dante Agostini" drum school.
